orangecha gonna eat that?

amanda is worried that eating the oranges here will kill her. she says this because remember when scientists discovered that the shells on bird's eggs were getting too thin because of DDT pollution? well the peels on the oranges here are quite thin and couldn't it be the same phenomenon? is there concentrated pollution running through the tastiness? but i said just because the shell is thin doesn't mean there is actually poison inside the fruit, right? probably the little baby birds weren't full of poison. those scientists weren't thorough enough. they should have taken it one step further and eaten those baby birds just to be sure.
